This behavior forces suppliers to be as efficient and creative as possible, reduce costs and offer customers the widest range of options. MSAs strictly define the operational characteristics of these transceivers so that system suppliers can implement ports in their devices that allow MSA-compliant transceivers manufactured by branded and third-party OEMs to function properly.
